James Erich

James Erich has had a passion for young adult fiction since he was a teenager himself. In his high school and college years, he was saddened to see how few positive stories with gay protagonists there were, but is delighted to see that changing.  Though he has previously published adult titles under another pen name, James recently joined the ranks of YA novelists, with the publication of his first YA novel, “Seiðman.”  He is openly gay and lives with his husband in the small town of Raymond, NH.

  1. I just finished “Seidman” which I really enjoyed. I saw in the about the author section that you live in Raymond. I live in Nashua so I thought I’d say hello. I can’t wait to read more.

  2. Just wanted to say, I’m loving your book series, especially since I love fantasy stuff. Can’t wait for the next one! =) (It’s coming out soon in the summer, right?)

    • Hi! Sorry to take a while to respond. I caught a head cold last week and I’ve been lamenting my suffering all weekend like a big baby. :-p

Unfortunately, my publisher can’t publish it if I haven’t finished writing it — which I haven’t. The good news is that I expect to be finished very soon, say within the next few weeks. I’ll put up a post when I’m officially done with it. Then it will be a matter of when my publisher can fit it into the publishing queue.

Despite it taking longer than anticipated, I’m very excited about it. There have been a lot of surprises in the third book — things that even surprised me! — and the ending is turning out bigger and better than I’d originally plotted it.

    • I don’t know if you’re still anxious to read the final part of the “Dreams of Fire and Gods” trilogy, but I wanted to let you know that it’s done! I sent it to the publisher yesterday. 🙂

    • That’s a good question. I’m not really sure. I suppose it depends upon how popular the trilogy ends up being, once all three are published.

Incidentally, “Gods” was finished last weekend and it’s now in my publisher’s hands. I was in fact just logging in to announce that. 🙂

  3. Thanks for letting us know that you finished it! 🙂 I know it takes time, and I’m willing to wait for it to come out because it’s such a good series. I’m re-reading the other books right now, actually. 😀
